For a company or organisation, a systems approach will consolidate the profit from energy-using assets at the level of the entire building or factory.
More specifically, a systems approach will:
- Ensure that the economic optimum is calculated over the entire life cycle of the energy-using system, incorporating the uncertainty of making predictions through risk analysis;
- Counteract the negative effects of distributed responsibilities that strive for local profit only (“split budgets”) and aim instead for economic optimisation at the level of the entire organisation.
- A systems approach will also stimulate the integration of energy efficiency optimisation within the organisation’s general maintenance, replacement and investment planning.
A systems approach to energy efficiency leads to an economic optimum at the level of the entire organisation and for the entire life cycle. |
