Description
Heat represents 80% of the energy needs for buildings and its decarbonisation is crucial for an adequate energy transition. The provision of hot water, heating and cooling in our homes and buildings is crucial for people’s health, hygiene and well-being. Providing them with a fair choice of reliable, clean, and affordable technologies to access such needs in a sustainable way is urgently needed.
The Fit for 55 package is setting this momentum with a number of legislative requirements recently adopted and to be implemented across all member States, which are going to accelerate the path towards efficient buildings. This webinar zooms on the provision of the Solar Mandate in the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and addresses the potential of Solar Heat for residential and tertiary buildings with the intervention of Anette Persson from DG ENER/European Commission.
With 10 million rooftops already equipped with solar heat across Europe, Valérie Séjourné, Managing Director of Solar Heat Europe, will shed light on the solar thermal sector, the various technologies available (including PVT), their specificities and potential contribution towards the race for 2050 climate neutrality. This will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
