Description
The speakers will provide a comprehensive overview of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for electric motors, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), pumps, fans, and compressors on a global scale.
The begin with an exploration of the relevant international standards that underpin these regulations, followed by an examination of the current MEPS status for electric motors. While the number of countries implementing MEPS continues to grow, some have already revised their standards, introducing stricter requirements and expanding their scope. However, there are still countries without any MEPS in place.
The presentation will also cover the existing MEPS for Variable Speed Drives, pumps, fans, and compressors in various countries and regions. Finally, the speakers will address broader questions concerning the future of MEPS, their global acceptance, and potential alignment. Key issues to be discussed include whether MEPS levels for motors at IE4 have reached their practical limit, what options exist for policymakers beyond this level, and whether best practice MEPS could serve as models for other countries. Additionally, the presentation will consider the major challenges in setting and implementing MEPS. The session will conclude by directing the audience to valuable information and resources on the subject.
After the presentation, you will have the opportunity to interact with the speakers during the Q&A session.
