Description
Maximizing the potential of electric motors is typically achieved through geometry optimization and material selection. However, optimizing motor control, including pulse width modulation (PWM), is also an efficient approach to increase motor efficiency and reduce torque ripple or noise emissions. Numerical simulation, considering nonlinear and harmonic phenomena, is essential for this optimization. Nevertheless, full-scale electric motor models are often too computationally expensive. To address these limitations, efficient motor model reduction techniques that preserve accuracy can be utilized. Results have demonstrated high fidelity and a reduction in computation time by a factor of 1,000 or even 10,000, depending on the approach.
During this webinar, Fabien Vidal-Naquet presents a deep dive into these techniques.
